Travel Mohosthan Garh Bangladesh



There are many places of historical interest in Bangladesh. Mahasthan Garh is most attractive historical place among them. It has occupied by many instances of Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim regime. It is a very charming recreation place which easily attracts lot of visitors, both local and international. It is located in the shibganj Upazila of Bogra.

There are various places of interest with historic importance in Mahasthan Gorh. The ancient architectures, mazhars (Tomb of Muslim Scholar) and mosque of here are very nice to look. Visiting to such places bear a great significance for education of man. Recently I have visited Mahasthan Gorh which opened up a glorious chapter of old history before my eyes. I have tied to mention some of these with briefly here.

Once upon a time Mahastan Garh was the part of Pundranagur. Pundranagar was the Capital of many Hindu Kings. The old city was about two thousand (2000) meters long and fifteen hundred (1500) meters wide and was surrounded by a strong wall. It was a very affluent city on that time.Mahasthan Gorh is situated on the bank of the river Korotoa.There are some elevated places near Mahasthan Gorh. These places have different names. One part of the dried up river is known as the “Kankabatir Ghat”. There is also a museum in Mahasthan Gorh. Some ancient images, ornaments and pots excavated from Mahasthan Gorh have been kept in museum.. I enjoyed the tour very much. Really, it was a travel of gathering much knowledge and experience for me. Seeing these past relics anyone can learn a lot about the past heritage of Bangladesh.
